Problem gambling (also called "compulsive gambling," "disordered gambling," "gambling disorder," and "gambling addiction") includes all gambling behavioral patterns that compromise, disrupt, or damage personal, family, or vocational pursuits.

The essential features of problem gambling are:

increasing preoccupation with gambling
a need to bet more money more frequently
restlessness or irritability when attempting to stop
"chasing" losses
loss of control manifested by continuation of the gambling behavior in spite of mounting, serious, negative consequences.

In extreme cases, problem gambling can result in financial ruin, legal problems, loss of career and family, or even suicide.

Life Recovery Center is pleased to offer our state-certified gambling disorder treatment program. Gambling treatment program offers group and individual therapy sessions for gambling issues. Financial counseling is also available as part of our gambling disorder treatment program. Special funding is available to help individuals who qualify pay for their treatment at our agency. Your eligibility will be determined in your initial session.

Our gambling treatment program is overseen by Dr. Eric L Davis, who is an Internationally Certified Gambling Counselor II and the first and ONLY Board Approved Clinical Consultant for gambling treatment in the state of Indiana.

Therapy services for Problem Gambling are available in individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
